Harris is running as a nonpartisan for the open District F commission seat. She describes the district as spanning one of Clark County’s fastest-growing areas — from Enterprise through the southwest valley into rural desert communities — and says growth must be managed with smart planning, housing options, good jobs, and career-connected schools. She presents her regulatory and legislative background as a way to attract employers without lowering standards.
Harris moved to Las Vegas in 1989. She has two children who attended Clark County public schools. She was active in PTA, spoke for neighbors on planning and zoning, and served on the Clark County Attendance Zone Advisory Commission.
She represented Senate District 9 for two regular sessions and two special sessions, chaired the Education Committee, served as vice-chair of Judiciary, and sat on Finance and Commerce, Labor & Energy. As Gaming Control Board chair she was the state’s chief gambling regulator.
