Support building a regional light rail system and improving bus and complete-street infrastructure. Yan argues Las Vegas is the only major Mountain West metro without true mass transit, cites Phoenix’s light rail as a comparison, and proposes using tax-increment financing around stations to help pay for rail.
Housing
Increase housing supply with a community-focused strategy: modernize zoning for smaller homes and missing-middle housing (duplexes, triplexes, townhomes), reduce parking minimums especially near transit, increase lot coverage, and prioritize transit-oriented and infill development.
Responsible growth & water
Prioritize development on already-urban or underused land instead of sprawl onto desert public land. Protect water resources and public lands as Clark County grows toward a projected 3 million residents by 2045, with Lake Mead cited as only about 30% full.
Jobs & economy
Create a county “one-stop shop” to cut red tape for small businesses, prioritize local contractors, expand economic-development capacity, and support a CDFI for microloans. Partner with CCSD and the College of Southern Nevada on workforce training in healthcare, biotech, trades, and cybersecurity, and expand affordable childcare at county facilities.
